Description
While on vacation with my family out in Oregon in June - we came out of the KOA campground office to find this parked beside our car. Of course I had to take pictures! Its a car covered in dentures, retainers, toothpaste tubes, and all things dental. It was AWESOME! This is the notice that was taped to the inside by the owner and designer:
"Chew-Baru"
1. No, Im not a dentist
2. It's a 1995 Subaru that was totalled in a hailstorm
3. I had the idea foor the ChewBaru after I found a 75 pound box of recycled dentures on Ebay
4. 3 people have contributed boxes of dental impressions. One weighed 30 pounds, another weighed 35 pounds and the last weighed 70 pounds.
5. So far, the car has approximately 200 pounds of items related to dentistry glued to it.
6. The photos and illustrations are from old dental school books.
7 I used "GOOP" Marine glue - for the dentures and clear silicone for the dental impressions
8. Major donors to the Chew-baru have signed the interior of the car.
9. No. Im not a funeral Director.
10. No. I dont work in a retirement home.
11. The taxedermy deer eyes mounted on copper tubing over a base of crushed dentures looking through the antlers, are in memory of the deer that jumped in front of me, five days after the "Chew-baru" was put on the road in May 2006.
12. "Why did I do it?" It's harmless fun. Im not sure why the idea came to me, but Im just doing to a car what you would like to do to a car and havent found it within yourself to do.....yet. You know you want to. Also, would you have talked with me if I had been in a "Normal" car?
13. Yes, those are wireless video cameras.
