this one or the pirate grumpy face one?? I need to turn in my entry tonight. :)
its for the local bakery photo contest - has to have their bread in there somewhere.
she skewered a few rolls on her own and ate a couple from the chest ;) it was funny.
then some kids and their mom passed by and oohed and ahhhed at her and she reached her half eaten roll out to one of the kids and said "eat it. its tastey"
it was so damn cute

wow... I cant decide either! They are both great for different reasons. I THINK I like the first one more, because you see more of the bread... but then her actually eating the bread is good too. .... You can't enter both?!

Im thinking she might look a lil too ticked off in the other one lol :) she was mad because I told her to stop making roll-kabobs with them heheh :) she kept stabbing them and dropping them in the sand and they were fresh out of the oven and ooooooooh so tastey that i didnt want to toss out any more than needed (or eat a mouth full of sand with my roll hehe)
I think her eating it will probably give us a better chance for a win. I got both printed today - I might just ask them when I take it in tonight which one they like best :)

oh wow! I thought that was YOUR idea to put the rolls on her sword! I think its so perfect! And now that I look at the second one closer I like that she has the sword with the rest of the bread up on her shoulder! Its very pirate like!

It all comes down to the two main things you're trying to convey: pirates and bread.
Yes the other one is cute but with the bread on the sword, you can't tell what she's holding and it's too important of a prop to have in the picture and not have highlighted. Plus in this one, having a bite out of the bread makes it look less "staged" because for all they know, you could have made her hold the bread for five seconds and then fed it to the birds.
This one feels more true.
the other one is very cute too, don't get me wrong. But this one has a stronger feeling of believability.

yeah I think I have to aggree with Becky. I went with the first one initially because I could see the bread because the light falls on it, while in the second one, it remains more shadowed. But she is right, there is MUCH more of a connection in this one. :)
