Have come to the town where I work, they have found the base of a Norman Tower. So dates some time after 1066 but they are finding evidence of Saxons which dates the site earlier, its the possible site for King Harolds hunting lodge, in Portskewitt Wales.
The presentor is Tony Robinson, or other wise famous for being Baldrick in the Black Adder series.

I think they (the history channel) might have imported the first season of that show. I know I've seen Tony Robinson on a history program.
They might not be sexy, but I get completely drawn in to these type of shows. My fav is two men in a trench. I also like that father and son one; the father has a big box full of computer animation.
